Government Degree College, Seethampeta was established under RIAD in April 2007. It is located in remote sub plan area of Srikakulam District. It comes under Palakonda Revenue division. This college caters to the needs of tribal, downtrodden students of this area. Earlier students from Battili, Kotturu, Bhamini, Seethampeta Mandals commute by bus to Government Degree College, Palakonda. Now this college addresses al their problems. Earlier it was run in the premises of APTWR, Junior College, Seethampeta. Now we can run college in new furnished campus. Besides this there is separate hostel facility for boys and girls very near by.
Our emblem designed in such a way to reflect our college ideals. The hills represent pristine beauty of these college surrounding. Rising sun is the symbol for growth and knowledge. Flowing river symbolically tells thoughts must flow uninterrupted. Our slogan is "Knowledge is Power". We offer courses at UG Level B.Sc (MPCS, CBZ), B.A. (HEP) and B.Com (VOC). We gradually established laboratories and Library. We allocated one room for MANA TV class. In 2013 Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) was started to train students for competitive exams like Banking, railways etc. This year we started add on course TALLY for B.Com students. To inculcate service motto among students. We started N.S.S unit in 2010. Our academic record tells that this college can go long way to serve the students.
